CPU stands for Central Processing Unit.
It is the electronic circuitry within a computer that executes instructions that make up a computer program. The CPU performs basic arithmetic, logic, controlling, and input/output (I/O) operations specified by the instructions. The CPU is often referred to as the “brain” or “brains” of the computer. It is sometimes also referred to as the processor or microprocessor.
