The three main methods of data communication are:
- Simplex transmission
- Half-duplex transmission
- Full-duplex transmission
Simplex transmission allows data to flow in only one direction. It is like a radio broadcast. The sender transmits information but the receiver cannot respond.
Half-duplex transmission lets data travel in both directions but only one way at a time. It’s similar to how people use walkie-talkies. You can talk or listen, but not both at once.
Full-duplex transmission enables data to flow in both directions simultaneously. This is like a phone call where both people can speak and listen at the same time.
